ABOUT THE CLUB
Kaiteur Cricket Club is a non-profit organization that has been around since the 1970's. Over the past 35 years, national players for Guyana, the West Indies and Canada have played for Kaiteur.
Kaiteur Cricket Club is dedicated to nurturing young talent, starting from the age group of 13 years and above, for the game of cricket. During the off-season (October to April), they practice twice a week for two hours each session.
In the summer (May to September), they compete at the rep level in BEDCL to showcase their potential and learning in the game. The Club's ultimate goal is to develop talent for national and international levels. Cricket, as a sport, is known for improving leadership and teamwork skills in players, and the Club is renowned for not only nurturing these skills but also fostering excellent self-discipline.
The Club also imparts valuable life skills such as time management and planning, making the players better citizens. Several players have gone on to represent Canada internationally at the U19 World Cup, and one representative currently plays for the West Indies U19 team.
Kaiteur Cricket Club extends its support beyond our immediate community by sponsoring players throughout the season who may not afford to play. This initiative also helps new migrants settle into their new surroundings without feeling displaced.
